Reports to the Director of Public Health. Works to protect and promote the public health of the citizens of Framingham by enforcing all the laws of the Commonwealth relating to public health and the local Board of Health regulations.
Essential Duties Conducts inspections of food establishments, housing, swimming pools, whirlpools, beaches, tanning establishments, body art establishments, septic system designs and installations, summer camps and all nuisances/hazardous conditions. Documents all inspection findings, writes orders, notifies responsible parties of violations, conducts re-inspections, compiles reports and data. Daily interaction with the public is required. May testify in court to enforce Board of Health orders. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, in Environmental Health, Public Health or related degree and 3 to 4 years field experience. The following licenses, registrations, certifications are required as a condition of employment: Registered Sanitarian, Licensed Soil Evaluator, Lead Determination, Certified Pool Operator and Driver’s License.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: reading analytical documents that require close attention to detail. Color vision is required to read indicators on instruments. Highly developed manual dexterity in combination with eye-hand coordination is required to perform exacting operations.
